Hello, I made an itch.io account only to tell you about this, but as I'm playing absolute garbage 1 remastered (the one vinny played I think), I have encountered multiple softlocks. Spoilers ahead, so please stop reading for the love of god, unless you made the game or something.

So, when you kill the puppet guy, and then immediately re-enter the dark room he was from, you will get a black screen and some cool music and nothing else. I loaded my save after that, I'm not sure if I was just not getting another joke.

The second softlock is located almost immediately after the pyramid blows up. If you encounter the gay elf, you're done for, kiddo. Natsuki and Jones will never in their life be able to face any direction other than the one they were facing when encountering the elf EVER again. This is an EXTREME problem if you're trying to, you know, experience the unavoidable encounter with mettaton that's up next, meaning you can't progress through the game anymore.

I tried fixing this with savefile editors and whatnot, setting flags or something (I have no idea how RPG maker savefiles work), but it was useless. I didn't expect something like that to happen so this meant I had to replay the whole game. Now, lucky for you, your game is fun to play, so it was alright.

I hope you can fix at least the second one. It's pride month, I want to talk to the gay elf as soon as possible.

With love, a fan

Still a spoiler ahead

+Bug: Seems you forgot to include "Attack of the Airships - Super Mario Galaxy" in the BGM folder of the first game as well. This causes the game to close immediately after defeating mario. I'll try just downloading it and putting it in the folder

Thank you for telling me about this!

I believe just exiting the room should work, since you can still walk around when its dark(hell, thats part of the speedrun strat for skipping the mansion)

As for the second one, I'm going to hotfix that sometime tonight or in the morning, BUT I know as a failsafe, talking to knuckles in that area will reset any wacky modifiers put on the player.

(and for the third one, that'll also be fixed too. Right now I'm focusing on remaking AG2, but I'll try to push a bugfix update out soon!)

Enjoying these more than I expected.

Also, I don't seem to be able to save the game in AG2. AG1 was fine. Is this normal or am I running into a weird Wine issue (playing these on my Steam Deck)?

Edit: might be a Wine issue as it logs some file-related information to the terminal every time I try to save.

"Oh well!"

Edit 2: phew. Worked around it by copying saves from AG1 and I can overwrite those... Weird issue but at least I can save now, lol.

Edit 3: but it won't let me load... Your remakes seem to function just fine. Could you maybe re-export the second game pretty please even if the remake isn't done yet? It might solve my weird savefile issue.

Hmm...I'm not sure if I could help with that given how I've never dabbled with Wine, but I'll try!

At the least I plan on releasing a demo version of the remake(since its coming along quite well!) sometime to try and placate that issue.

(Sidenote: It absolutely blows me away that people are playing my games on the goddamn STEAM DECK, like wow, genuine thanks ^w^)

Haha, well, y'know, it's become my favorite system to play games on so I try everything I can on it. A surprising amount of stuff just works!

I'll keep looking for solutions; maybe I can get it to work with Steam Proton instead and get different results. If that doesn't work out I'll wait patiently. :)

Edit: adding it to Steam, enabling Proton, installing the RTP, then running the game totally worked! I can play this with save files now.
